routine
The judge-rapporteur of the Brussels Local Division rescheduled the written procedure on the parties' joint application, after inviting them to agree a timetable rather than litigate a contested extension. The defence and any revocation counterclaim are now due on 2 November 2026 and the claimant's reply under R. 29 and R. 30 RoP on 2 February 2027, with the later R. 32 RoP deadlines untouched. The Court accepted that the new timetable saves the parties costs, reduces its own workload at first instance and on appeal, lets the parties await the Court of Appeal's ruling on the pending language-of-proceedings application, and preserves equality of arms. It acknowledged that the timetable makes the one-year target in recital 7 of the preamble to the Rules of Procedure unattainable and held that this does not outweigh the gains in procedural economy.
