Request for the extension of the time period for the SoD, in the event of a request pursuant to R. 262A RoP regarding the SoC

The Mannheim LD partially granted defendants' request for an extension of the SoD deadline in connection with pending R. 262A confidentiality proceedings regarding a key exhibit. The JR confirmed established Mannheim LD case law that time periods run regardless of when a party obtains access to unredacted materials, but the affected party is entitled to a compensatory extension corresponding to the period of restricted access. Only a one-week extension was justified because the exhibit related to a minor part of the SoC, the key standing assertions were already in the unredacted SoC, and defendants had delayed raising the access issue for over six weeks after service. The order cited both Mannheim LD precedent (Panasonic v Xiaomi) and CoA authority (Lionra v Cisco, Sanofi v Amgen).
